Persistent Physical Pain
It All Begins Here
Do you know that nagging, dragging, pain point that just won’t relent? Have you tried all things, all the therapies, done everything right and still…it persists?
I KNOW the feeling.
If you’ve experienced a tense, stubborn persistent physical pain in the body- I can support you to release it. Because, there is a deeper layer.
Physical pain in our body is connected to emotional pain. We “know” this intellectually- but often actually connecting to the emotional pain, is quite difficult. This is because no one really wants to experience the less lovely emotions and yes… humans are excellent at suppressing them.
Areas of the body I work on:
Chest, Clavicle, Shoulders, Heart, Ribcage
Upper and Lower back, Neck
Stomach, Spleen, Liver, Diaphragm
Psoas, Pelvic Floor (external)
Legs, Glutes, Thighs, Calves, Feet
Essentially anywhere except inside the mouth, genitals or anus.
The Specific Area of the body:
Each area of the body contains different emotional patterns and in the 1:1 session, I will guide you into the emotional realm connected to this part of the body as well work on the physical body.
This is both bodywork and actual emotional expression. Each session is different since each person is different and we are at different places in our lives. I meet you where you are.
How I came to create this offering
A few years ago, I had intense, sharp and at times excruciating physical pain in my leg/low back for which there seemed to be no diagnosis and for which no one could find a root cause. Physical therapy, acupuncture and other therapies just were not resolving the pain. It was persistent and it impacted my life to a great degree. I knew there was an emotional root, but I also didn’t know how to get to it through the physical.
Then, on a trip to visit my parents, a manual therapist (friend of the family) manipulated my organs and pressed on my fascia and I experienced serious relief. When I returned home, I was on a search for someone who could support me to go deeper, but no one seemed to offer what I was looking for. I found a practitioner that I asked to “press harder” on the specific areas that I knew I needed the release and although he didn’t want too, he did, and emotions were able to come pouring out of me. At this point, I was able to guide myself through the releasing, because the person working on me, had no idea what to do with what I was experiencing.
Discovering the fascia and the way it holds memory, emotional pain, anger, sadness, etc- completely changed my life and the way I work with clients.
Physical pain has a something to express
We often want to avoid the physical pain in our body. But our physical pain is a story that we are carrying that hurts us both emotionally and physically. This doesn’t always mean something we would consider a massive trauma. Very often physical pain in the body is from years of subtle beliefs that we carry that we wish we didn’t.
The physical pain needs space to be witnessed, heard and fully expressed. This is part of my expertise. I know how to lead you into expressing what is inside of you. Of course, it does require that you become vulnerable and this is why private 1:1 sessions with someone you trust is critical.
What I do
I bring together all parts of a human: mental, emotional, physical and spiritual- so that you can move through the emotional and physical pain: then (mental) understand it and then (spiritual) learn from it and choose to reprogram it. Reprogramming is both a mental and a spiritual experience as it brings clarity, understanding and the ability to transcend what has been trapped in the unconscious.
Together, we pull back the layers that are blocking you from experiencing relief.
I have also come to understand that each person’s fascia needs different amounts of pressure to release - based on their unique constitution.
The most important element of releasing is bringing mental/spiritual awareness to the emotional component, working through the release- and then- reprogramming.
As I mentioned, the fascia holds memory and that means, is programmable. If we do not bring in the mental/spiritual component then we will just return to the same memories and thus the stress or pain in the fascia will eventually return. This is why with most bodywork it is something you have to “continually do”. My offering is meant to transform you from the inside out, so that you do not have to continue getting bodywork done.
